Nix Group Architects' background of providing services for historic projects date back to our 1981 renovation of our own 1894 Second Empire Victorian office building. Other projects include the iconic 1924 Italianate 16-story Stephen F. Austin Hotel, that consisted of two complete renovations and remodels, separated by 20 years. Several other projects, on smaller historic buildings, include their renovations of or conversions into updated retail and office uses. Each with their own unique challenges, requiring specific design solutions.
