Nix Group Architects' religious projects have varied in scope and include master plans, multi-phased campus buildings, multi-purpose congregation buildings, and dedicated sanctuary buildings. At the church auditorium spaces, whether for large or small congregations, their layout designs strived to create a close and intimate relationship between the congregation and their minister, and their other related activities, with an arrangement allowing the congregation to simultaneously connect and commune with each other. Several of the other projects were for interlinking separate existing buildings with enclosed connections, requiring new and unique interactive spaces that thoughtfully created additional functional uses. For these, the designs were mindful of their relationships to the other existing spaces as well as in the selection and use of new materials, in order to enhance and harmonize both with the existing.
