The Village Oaks Retail Center located in Bee Cave, Texas with 12,000sf of tenant space and one restaurant space. The building’s exterior, with its varying roof shapes, canopy elements and materials, was designed to provide a sense of human scale and visual interest along the tenant store frontages. Its two higher cupola elements create the center’s identity for a visual connection from the roadway some distance away. To address the site’s significant grade changes, a combination of ADA steps and ramps were incorporated into the site’s walkways. Significant consideration was also made towards retaining many of the existing trees and natural areas within the parking area. Nix Group Architects subsequently provided architectural services for two tenant infill restaurants and a chiropractic office finish-out.
