Sterling Park Pool Enclosure
Description:
This mitigation project was initiated by an existing apartment building complex that faced having to remove a previously built swimming pool that was constructed too close to the neighboring property within the adjoining city mandated compatibility setback area. This was causing noise complaints from the adjacent neighborhood. An agreement was reached by both parties that allowed the pool to remain, with the stipulation that the significant sound problem be address. Our firm was hired to design a pool enclosure to solve these issues. For this, the design included a uniquely configured and irregular shaped sound absorbing/blocking wall with an open-air sound-deflecting wood and steel trellis structure above. Combined together, the sound problem was vastly mitigated. It also provided an enjoyable breezy covered area, screened from the afternoon sun.
