The St. Tropez Condominiums, located in the Westlake Hills area of Austin, are positioned on a wooded hillside with panoramic views overlooking Lake Austin and were designed as an integral part of its recreational and waterfront amenities. The project's design intermingles and unifies the site and buildings into a sophisticated layering of public, semi-public, and private spaces. The arrangement of the buildings on the site were carefully considered to protect and save the site’s existing large oak trees. Of the first three buildings constructed, two consisted of six multi-level townhouse units each, the third consisted of nine single-level apartment units. The three-story townhomes have multiple configurations and number of bedrooms, ranging from 2,400 to 3,400 square foot, each with their own private entry area, breakfast court, numerous balconies and a rooftop patio on the fourth level, as well as their own elevator. Outside these units, multiple common entry pavilions provided a visual element to guide and welcome visitors. The project exterior styling and materials were intended to reflect the romantic charm of a Mediterranean styled village. This is highlighted by its contrasting white stucco walls, arched dormers and chimneys; and its multi sloped roofscape with deep blue roof tiles, that all further adds to its character and charm.
